Your job: Senior Software Engineer Amsterdam Scala
As a Senior Software Engineer Amsterdam Scala you will work in one of the multidisciplinary Scrum teams to build highly scalable and performant components to the platforms. The key focus is clear: help improve the customer experience to an ever growing group of already millions people per month. Due to the vast amount of data processes by the platform you can look forward solving the type of problems you don’t easily find anywhere else. Although you colleagues really have a polyglot mindset, all new development is done in Scala (Cassandra, cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, CD).
You could be working on a new search engine, tweaking a recommendation algorithm, building a new tool or building a totally new feature to the already very impressive platforms. In the meanwhile you are highly involved in architectural decisions and help coach less experienced developers. As this is a high quality product environment you can really build what you are proud of, no killer deadlines just for the sake of it!

What is required?
- A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience
- Experience with Java AND/OR Scala
- A passion to work with Scala professionally
- Experience with building systems where scalability and performance matters
- A collaborative nature with a keen sense for building high quality products
- You like to keep up to date with new technologies and possibilities
- Experience with building Microservices
- Experience with Kafka, ElasticSearch or Spark is a plus
- Experience with Cassandra or another NoSQL solution is a plus
- Experience with Docker or Kubernetes is a plus
