Your job: Senior Scala Developer Amsterdam
As Senior Scala Developer Amsterdam you are in luck! Within you unit there are a lot of new things that need to be thought out and developed. The challenges you will work on will involve architecture, design, performance improvements, concurrency and microservices.
A lot if still classified, but you will be able to hear more during the interview process. Although you will be involved in building heavy load systems and will be using pure FP and Scala to develop components, frameworks and other technology as a base to move the company further. In essence you will help build the standards and foundation that the future of millions of consumer clients count on, now and in the future as they scale up their client base.
Although the teams are self-organizing, without a lot of hierarchy, you will have an informal technical leadership role to acts as a proponent of FP and Scala while pro-actively helping to implement the roadmap. Furthermore you will help advocate Scala and FP throughout the rest of the organization. To make sure you remain on top of your game, you can look forward to 2 fully paid trips to international conferences per year!

What is needed?
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
- A solid professional track record in Scala and FP
- Experience within a Microservices architecture
- Experience with Cassandra or another NoSQL solutions is a big plus
- Experience with Cloud development is a plus
- Experience with Kafka or similar technology is a plus
