Your Role: Senior Azure Cloud Engineer Amsterdam

In your role as a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer in Amsterdam, you have the unique opportunity to elevate the technically complex (PaaS) API Platform to a higher level. You’ll be working for a medium-sized tech scale-up, where you’re part of a small, dedicated team. This means you have the freedom to shape the design and expansion of the advanced cloud infrastructure.

As a Senior Cloud Engineer in Amsterdam, you’re embarking on an exciting journey to explore the possibilities of this organization and make your technical mark on the Cloud infrastructure. You’ll deal with software architecture, security best practices, cloud infrastructure development and automation, networking (DNS, VPN, firewalls, reverse proxies) and (bash) scripting.

From day one, you’ll have the opportunity to expand their automated infrastructure with IaC (Terraform) and Kubernetes. The goal is to manage the entire infrastructure with Terraform Enterprise as quickly as possible, giving you even more autonomy in setting up and managing the resilient, available, and scalable Cloud infrastructure.

There’s also a focus on improving the logging and monitoring system. While you’re already familiar with the existing technology stack, you’re encouraged to come up with innovative solutions to further optimize this system. Do you have the expertise to determine how this process can be made more effective and efficient? Your input and technical vision will be invaluable in taking the organization’s Cloud infrastructure to new heights.

What’s Required?

5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer and/or Cloud Engineer.
2+ years of experience in a modern Azure Cloud environment.
As a senior, you can clearly articulate your ideas and effectively convey your vision to colleagues.
Professional experience in setting up, running, and troubleshooting Kubernetes, experience with Helm charts.
Professional experience with Terraform (IaC), within an environment with many dependencies.
Experience with Linux and bash.
Experience with Elastic Stack (ELK), Prometheus, Grafana is a plus.
Experience with CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Git is a plus.
Experience with networking is a bonus.
Technical BSc or MSc study is a plus.

Salary between €75,000 and €90,000 gross, based on knowledge and experience.

I was looking for a role as a senior Scala developer in Amsterdam/Utrecht region.I was specifically looking to apply for one company through CodeGuild, but in the initial interview they also presented me with a couple of other options for companies which would be a good fit for me.They were very friendly, helpful and supportive, without being pushy.
