Your job: Mathematical frontend developer Amsterdam

As Mathematical frontend developer Amsterdam you will work on the web interface of the product. As there are many big projects on the go, there is a lot to do! For example, you can work on creating a new user workflow, thereby impacting how users handle the product. Also you will be involved in building new features and improving performance. So your activities can be quite diverse and challenging!

The product is cloud (AWS) based and you will work with CI/CD, Git and various testing best practices such as unit tests and end2end tests. Therefore, you work in a high level engineering environment where quality is very important! As the codebase is very large (and hugely covered with tests) it is important that you can work with this complexity. Your knowledge of algorithms and data structures is essential to work here and bring the product forward by solving some great mathematical puzzles.

And  in case you’re interested, you can also pick up activities with node.js and python! So for a polyglot engineer who likes to be challenged this can be a development heaven!

 

What is required?

  • 3 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Extensive experience with Vanilla JavaScript
  • Thorough understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Having a mindset of ownership: taking responsibility, able to self-manage and be a team player
  • MSc level of thinking and working
  • Experience with Java/ C++/ Python is a plus
  • Experience with unit test, end2end tests, CI/CD is a plus
  • Experience with working with a large codebase is a plus
