In recent years, this E-Health tech company has been getting a lot of attention with the construction of various healthcare products that will forever change the way we receive care in the Netherlands and the rest of the world. Based on Machine Learning, A.I and Big data, people have been able to find a way to organize care more effectively and efficiently. The organization was created as a spin-off from a very renowned Healthcare company and can, therefore, draw on a mountain of domain-specific knowledge and capital. With tens of millions of funding, the future looks bright here, but also very challenging.

The organization has entered an interesting phase. A lot of work is being done on the different products and these are already live in production. The number of users is increasing rapidly, but they are far from finished here. New challenges await. For example, the ambition is to conquer the rest of the world in addition to the Netherlands, and so it will be necessary to consider scalable architecture for several countries. Tens of machine learning algorithms are being developed here that must be integrated into the platform and the entire infrastructure of products, internal and external systems must come into one system.

Your job: JVM Software Architect Amsterdam

In your role as JVM Software architect Amsterdam you will work in a vibrant team of different specialists. In your role, you are an important pillar in the organization. You also work with a wide variety of specialists. Think of Backend & Front-end Developer, Data Science & Data Engineers, medical specialists and of course management. In your role you are strategically involved in technical choices that are made and of you directly under the CTO of the organization, an absolute guru in AI and scaling up Tech companies. As a JVMSoftware Architect Amsterdam you will get an important task; How do the different systems become one infrastructure. You can think of the in-house developed app, backend systems for medical specialists, data science platform, integration with external systems, your own CMS and more. All this must become one. You will also help determine what the roadmap will look like in the future, and you will continue to take a critical look at new technical solutions that help the systems to innovate.

You do all this in a Cloud first (AWS) microservices based and distributed environment based on Java11 / Kotlin, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kubernetes and React. Furthermore, they are super agile, TDD is important and they can go into production with CD several times a day.

What is being asked?

Minimum 7 years of relevant JVMsoftware engineering experience
Experience with building Cloud and distributed systems
Experience with java8 or higher and / or Kotlin
Experience with microservices, Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with Cloud, preferably AWS
Experience with setting up CI / CD pipelines
Experience with design of scalable architectures
Experience with stakeholder management
Experience with test automation is an advantage
Experience with security and / or identity & access management is an advantage
Experience with machine learning, A.I and Big Data is an advantage

I was looking for a role as a senior Scala developer in Amsterdam/Utrecht region.I was specifically looking to apply for one company through CodeGuild, but in the initial interview they also presented me with a couple of other options for companies which would be a good fit for me.They were very friendly, helpful and supportive, without being pushy. There was targeted help with prep for the interviews/assessments which was specific to each company, and they enabled me to give the best account for myself (definitely better than if I'd been preparing on my own).In the end I accepted an offer from one of the companies they presented me with instead of the original company I had in mind.
