Your Role: Senior Backend Engineer Utrecht

As a Senior Backend Engineer Utrecht, you’ll play a key role in the evolution of the platform. You’ll work with Kotlin, Ktor, Kafka, Kubernetes, GCP, BigQuery, and PostgreSQL to design and develop scalable backend services, data pipelines, and APIs.

You’ll be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle: from designing new services to building, testing, and deploying them into production. You’ll collaborate closely with the product team to deliver new FinTech solutions. Think of building SDKs, real-time event processing, external integrations, and optimizing cloud resources for maximum performance.

What’s Required?

At least 4 years of experience in backend development
Experience with Kotlin (or Java) and frameworks like Ktor or Spring Boot
Experience with event-driven architectures is a major plus
Experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and containerization (Kubernetes)
Knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL or BigQuery
Affinity with FinTech, scalable systems, and security
Strong communication skills and a completed technical BSc or MSc
Availability to work on-site in Utrecht at least 4 days per week
Eligible to work in EU (they can not yet sponsor Visa)
