Your Role: Senior Android Engineer POS  Amsterdam

Imagine working in a team of like-minded, experienced engineers on a completely new Android POS platform. No legacy code refactors, no sluggish governance, no vendor lock-ins. But truly: building from the ground up. Together with a CTO who has already made his mark in the global payments space, you’ll develop a lean, robust, scalable solution that will be rolled out globally.

You’re not “just an Android developer.” You know the payments world. Maybe you were at a company that delivered POS solutions to the first major retailers. You know what goes wrong in practice. You understand the limitations of existing terminals. And you’ve felt the frustration of trying to innovate in a slow-moving market with outdated tech.

Here, you’ll get the opposite: all the freedom to do it right. No hardware from the stone age. No slow decision-making. But close collaboration with product designers, backend engineers, and business experts to build a truly disruptive platform from a modern, cloud-first architecture. You’ll work on the full lifecycle of the product. From UX flows to offline fallback mechanisms. From EMV certification to edge optimization. Your Android expertise, combined with your payments experience, isn’t just a “nice-to-have” here it’s central to the success. What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience in Android development (Java/Kotlin)

• Solid experience with architecture, design, and pitfalls within the POS industry at scale

• Proven experience building and scaling robust payment systems in the POS space (Ingenico, Verifone, myPOS, etc.)

• Experience with EMV, terminal integration, NFC, or payment standards is a must

• Experience with edge-performance optimization (e.g., caching, fallback) is a strong plus

• Track record of building robust, maintainable Android apps in production teams

• Ideally, experience in a scale-up or engineering-first environment

• You communicate effortlessly with both business and tech, and love taking ownership

• €90,000 – €130,000 gross annual salary based on experience and impact
