Your Role: Senior Backend Developer Utrecht

As a Senior Backend Developer Utrecht, you'll help design, build, and scale the backbone of this global streaming platform. You’ll work in a tight-knit team of experienced engineers with a strong sense of ownership.Together, you’ll take the platform to the next level.

· Build microservices in TypeScript and Node.js → Develop scalable backend services using TypeScript, and use Go for the truly performance-critical parts.

· Cloud-native & serverless infrastructure → You’ll build on AWS (Lambda, SQS, etc.) and use MongoDB as the primary datastore.Everything is designed for speed and resilience.

· Design systems that scale → Contribute to API design, caching, distributed processing, observability, and zero-downtime releases.

· Forward-thinking innovation (AI) → R&D is ongoing around AI features like content tagging and analytics. Interested in AI applications? You can join those efforts immediately.

What’s Required?

7+ years of experience as a backend engineer
Familiarity with distributed systems, testing frameworks, CI/CD
Understanding of scalable systems, performance and API design
Experience with Node.js, TypeScript
Experience in designing and building heavily used backend systems with impressive load is a big plus!
Experience with NestJSis big plus!
Experience or interest in Go is a big plus
Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) is a plus
Experience with MongoDB or similar databases is a plus
Interest in AI (experience not required, but a bonus)
