Your new employer is an established company with a mature software engineering environment, which is currently (re)building a complex software product from scratch. The software engineering culture is embedded in the DNA of the organization and results in an agile workflow with unit testing, test automation, CI/CD, clean coding and knowledge sharing as standard. And your new colleagues consist of a Senior Front end Developers, 4 Back end engineers, and two DevOps engineers.Many of your smart colleagues have a background in computer science. Here you work with a team of like-minded and smart Developers to spar and learn from.

The product being build focuses on a service for millions of end-users, giving institutions complete control (crucial better insights) over their finances. You’ll build a streamlined risk platform that makes real-time predictions.

This means that the product you are building has a very important place in the lives of end-users and that there is a lot of attention to user experience, smart (and complex) functionality and visualizations. The nice thing is that the whole product is currently being rebuilt! Together with UX specialists in the product and all different functions redesigned and translated into technical solutions.

Within Front end development this results in a complex web component-based architecture. And as the product crosses the borders in Europe, the product will tap into new nationalities and target groups – creating new dynamics over and over again and solving many interesting puzzles.

Your job: Senior Front end Developer Amsterdam

As an experienced Senior Font end Developer you may determine and build the architecture for crucial systems and innovative products. At the moment your employer is in transition and the entire platform is built from scratch! Without legacy, you can enter within an autonomous team and you may work close on the product. The products you build play a crucial role within the organization, which allows them to respond better to the market. As Senior Front end Developer, you build new components with modern Javascript tools and provide unique UIs.

Stack: Modern JavaScript (ES. Next), PlainJS, TypeScript, web components, React, HTML5, CSS/SASS, NodeJS, CI/CD, Unit testing, Integration testing.

This is the biggest challenge: Working together in an agile environment with a multidisciplinary team, understanding different angles and integrating them into a very complex Front end architecture. For a Senior Front end Developer who likes to work closely with fellow techies and focus on designing and building smart architectures according to the latest standards: This is a unique opportunity!

I was looking for a role as a senior Scala developer in Amsterdam/Utrecht region.I was specifically looking to apply for one company through CodeGuild, but in the initial interview they also presented me with a couple of other options for companies which would be a good fit for me.They were very friendly, helpful and supportive, without being pushy. There was targeted help with prep for the interviews/assessments which was specific to each company, and they enabled me to give the best account for myself (definitely better than if I'd been preparing on my own).In the end I accepted an offer from one of the companies they presented me with instead of the original company I had in mind.
