You role: Senior Backend Developer Amsterdam Java Scala
As Senior Backend Developer Amsterdam Java Scala you will play a fundamental role within one of the many multidisciplinary development teams combining business and tech. Also you get to be involved the full development cycle for maximum impact, design, implementation, releasing and monitoring!
You will get to bite down on the further optimisation of architecture, mentoring and helping grow lesser experienced colleagues and development of heavily used backend products/services to continuously add user value to over ten million unique users per month.
You will have the option to focus on heavily backend related challenges on the platform like scaling, performance, availability and refactoring or have a more product oriented focus. All up to you. Both are impactful as you deploy many times per day!

What is required?
- 5+ years of professional backend development experience
- A technical BSc or MSc education or demonstratable level of working through experience
- Experience with Java, Scala or Kotlin
- A proactive communicator and good team player
- Experience designing and developing distributed backend systems within a microservices architecture is highly preferred
- Experience with Monix and Scalatra is a plus
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL (Cassandra) Databases is a plus
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
- Experience within cloud environments is a plus
- Experience deploying and monitoring is a plus
What is offered?
- Between € 70.000 and € 90.000 gross per year, based on knowledge and experience
