Your job: Lead Java Developer Amsterdam
As Lead Java Developer Amsterdam you have one of the greatest jobs within the company. Their amazing success so far was due to their systems which have been built by an external party. Now that they are really having amazing traction within the market and are expanding to multiple countries they have decided to build their own systems from scratch. And that is where you come in!
As Lead Java Developer Amsterdam you will take the lead in designing and setting up the architecture of their product line serving various purposes for both their consumer customers, external stakeholders and their internal invoice and billing systems. Java, AWS and Microservices seem the way are the way to go (or you have other ideas about that?). But which specific technologies you would like to choose are up to you. True greenfield baby!
You will help setting up the best software engineering best practices, help build a great software engineering culture, automate the delivery cycle, help build the multidisciplinary team of engineers further, coach them (technically, no HR responsibilities) and of course (the most fun part perhaps!) get your hands dirty in the implementation. Think 80% development, 20% coaching/coordination with stakeholder. High availability and security are paramount for all systems, so you have your work cut out for you!
What is required?
- A minimum of 6 years of professional years of java development experience
- Experience with leading and coaching a development team
- Communicative and energetic
- Experience with architecture and designing within high availability projects
- An innovative mind that likes to look at new technology to see how it can help
- Experience with delivery automation and automated testing
- Experience with Spring Boot, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes and Kafka would be a plus
- A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science or similar would be much appreciated
- Experience with a cloud vendor like AWS, Azure of Google cloud would be great
