Your job: Lead Front end Developer Amsterdam

You as Lead Front end Developer Amsterdam will get to build your very own software development team, which you will be leading on site here in Amsterdam, while working on cutting edge software projects. The nice thing is that they have a huge list of projects, from which you can cherry pick the most interesting projects to run. From building chatbots to weather forecasting applications to blockchain solutions. In this role you will be involved from the very beginning; speaking with the customer, transferring this into requirements and build the solution on projects that last between 6 months and 1,5 years, based on the best of breed technologies and methodologies. With your leadership experience you will cherry pick the best engineers available and build successful teams.

In projects you will be the technological leader towards customers and your dev team, getting requirements, sparring with them, deciding on architecture, team set up and technology stack. Allowing you to finally really do things in the best way, while also helping your development team be all they can be!

You will be feeding this hub of software engineering innovation and communicating about the applications for modernizing industries on online media channels, through meetups and at conferences. You will call the smartest engineers in the Amsterdam Area your colleagues, which will quickly grow into a unit of a few dozen professionals. The great thing is every Friday is ‘Google day’ and on this day you will Experiment with new techs, build PoCs and share knowledge with your colleagues and have more fun than you can imagine!

In your role as Lead Front end Developer you will visit the most innovative departments of this global organization, making connections and adding the companies best practices to your own. And next to that, the main focus will be on the in house development of the necessary tools here in Amsterdam to be able to service the market with the highest quality available.

What is required?

A minimum of 6 years of professional java software engineering experience
Experience as a senior or lead front end developer / technical lead
Experience with React, Angular, Vue, Polymer or Node are big pluses
Experience working Full stack and a technology agnostic mindset is appreciated
A technical university degree or similar level is a plus
Well-developed communication skills are appreciated
Affinity with Blockchain, AI, Chatbots & Data Analytics is appreciated
Experience with Unit Testing, TDD, Automated Testing or End to End testing is a plus
Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment is a plus
Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud are plusses
Experience with Agile/Scrum software development

What is offered?

Between € 65.000 and € 80.000 gross per year + between 1 tot 2,5 months salary (paid out quarterly)

From their site and reviews they looked like very professional recruiters and i was not wrong. I was looking for a role as a senior Scala developer in Amsterdam/Utrecht region.I was specifically looking to apply for one company through CodeGuild, but in the initial interview they also presented me with a couple of other options for companies which would be a good fit for me.They were very friendly, helpful and supportive, without being pushy. There was targeted help with prep for the interviews/assessments which was specific to each company, and they enabled me to give the best account for myself (definitely better than if I'd been preparing on my own).In the end I accepted an offer from one of the companies they presented me with instead of the original company I had in mind.
