Your job: Java Scala Senior Backend Software Engineer Amsterdam
In your job as Java Scala Senior Backend Software Engineer Amsterdam you will be working in the department specialized in making sure all data remains safe and secure. And with thousands of things happening all at once in a great many countries this is definitely easier said than done! You will be working in one of the experienced and autonomous scrum teams located in one of the most inspiring office locations you could imagine. No expense has been spared to make sure you guys can do great things!
You are needed as there are a great many things that still need to be completed in the roadmap. One of the distributed core applications have to be developed further, where still a lot of technological choices can be made after which new functionalities need to be developed. This is a Java8 based (Microservices, Spring Boot, Cassandra, Kafka) application, which will initially be about 80% of the work. As you work with a great many of skilled software engineering teams there is a lot of room to spar and learn from each other.
Another very interesting fact is that here Scala is also used a lot, in which other applications are being developed. After the Java application is done you will get the chance to work on Scala/Akka/Cassandra applications too! This might be ideal if you are already great in Java8/Microservices development but are looking to also gain good Scala experience!
What is needed?
- A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience with a JVM language
- Excellent Java experience building Microservices (experience with Spring Boot is a bug plus)
- Beta Bachelor working level or higher
- Experience with or curious about Scala
- Experience with NoSQL (Experience with Cassandra would be a plus)
- An affinity for product development, clean coding, agile working and great collaboration
- A good communicator
- Experience with everything from feature design and architecture to deployment
- Experience with Akka or Kafka would be a plus
