Your job: Data Driven Senior Scala Developer Amsterdam
As Data Driven Senior Scala Developer Amsterdam you will be part of a very experienced software engineering team, working hard to build and improve the systems that enable to batch and real-time processing of million clients all over Europe. You help to operationalize very sophisticated algorithms enabling real-time streaming and predictive analytics.
These systems create great insights in the lives of the consumer customers. All of the data generated in any touchpoint is routed through these systems and are therefore of crucial importance. As the systems demonstrate their worth this number will rise to up to 80 million. Talk about making an impact!
You as Data Driven Senior Scala Developer Amsterdam will work closely with Data Engineers, Software Engineer, Data Scientist and business to build these highly distributed, fast executing systems based on Scala, Akka HTTP, Kafka and Cassandra.
What makes this job more interesting is that you can yourself choose to remain doing software engineering work or also pick up data engineering work and start to work with Spark too for data processing. Either direction you choose, here you will be challenged for year to come!
What is needed?
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, primarily using a JVM Language
- 2+ years of professional scala experience
- Excellent knowledge and experience building highly performance, distributed systems
- Experience with working in a Microservices Architecture
- Experience with NoSQL technology
- Aware of the modern software engineering best practices like CI/CD, DevOps and automated testing
- Able to work on anything from feature design to deployment
- A MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar education is highly preferred
- Experience with Kafka or Spark is a plus
- Experience with Akka is highly preferred
